Pinnacol adds Golombek, Salazar to board and new chair

Denver — July 13, 2020 — Pinnacol Assurance,Colorado’s leading workers’ compensation insurer, welcomes Ellen Golombek and Jesus Salazar to its board of directors. Both were appointed by Gov. Jared Polis. Farm and Ranch representative Joseph A. Hoff will serve as board chair.

“Pinnacol, its customers and the workers we cover will benefit from the unique expertise these new board members bring,” said Hoff. “Ellen’s extensive background in organized labor and worker relations and Jesus’understanding of business strategy bring essential perspectives for our continued success.”

Ellen Golombek will serve as an employee representative. She is the owner of Golombek Consulting Services LLC, where she works with nonprofits,businesses and other organizations to set their vision, develop strategy and implement programs. She is also the deputy executive director (and past president) of the National Association of State Workforce Agencies. She served as executive director of Colorado’s Department of Labor and Employment under Gov. John Hickenlooper. Prior to that appointment, she was executive director of the Colorado AFL-CIO.

Jesus Salazar will serve as an employer representative. A Colorado native, Salazar is CEO of consulting firm Prosono, which helps organizations align their current work with the legacy they aim to leave. For the past 19 years, he has used his engineering and analytics background to help corporate and nonprofit clients formulate and execute compelling strategies that significantly transform their business. In addition to his Pinnacol appointment, he serves as board chair for Rocky Mountain PBS and co-board chair for Colorado Succeeds and is a trustee of the Colorado School of Mines, from which he graduated.
