Former assistant vice president of underwriting to lead agency relations and safety initiatives

DENVER —  Oct. 30, 2018 — Pinnacol Assurance, Colorado’s leading provider of workers’ compensation insurance, is proud to announce Krista O’Rourke as its next vice president of agency relations and safety services.

O’Rourke has been with Pinnacol since 2013, initially as a business director and most recently as assistant vice president of underwriting. With 18 years of insurance agency experience, O’Rourke has leveraged her uniquely applicable expertise to strengthen Pinnacol’s relationships with its agent partners, a duty she will continue to develop in her new position. O’Rourke will also oversee business development, agent retention and safety management.

“I’m thrilled we’re bringing Krista’s distinctive experience and leadership to our executive team with this promotion,” said Pinnacol Assurance Chief Customer Officer Mark Isakson. “Our agent partners are critical to our future success, and Krista’s unique combination of underwriting, operations, agency experience and recent work on Pinnacol’s digital experience for agents will propel her to great success in her new role.”

Isakson added that O’Rourke is a natural to assume oversight of safety operations, given her previous agency experience and the direct connection between Pinnacol’s agent partners and their clients when it comes to pursuing new safety initiatives.

Among other reasons Isakson cited for choosing O’Rourke are her proven results in developing products and strategies in collaboration with Pinnacol’s partner agencies and her track record of maintaining strong lines of internal and external communication, keeping stakeholder satisfaction at a high level.

O’Rourke replaces longtime Pinnacol executive Jon Scott, who retired Sept. 30.

“Jon has been a fixture in the field for over 30 years, and we couldn’t be happier for him as he begins the next chapter of his life,” said Pinnacol President and CEO Phil Kalin. “While he’s left some sizable shoes to fill, the rest of the executive team and I are confident that Krista will take the ball and run with it. We’re excited to see the new directions she will take us when it comes to working closely with our agents and innovating new safety initiatives.”
