This Colorado Division of Workers' Compensation (DOWC) course is available to current Level I accredited providers. The Level II course educates MDs and DOs to perform impairment ratings using the American Medical Association Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment, 3rd Edition, revised. The course also gives an overview of the administrative, legal and medical aspects of the Colorado Workers’ Compensation system.
The course can be completed online or as a home study course is available throughout the year.
The seminar will include problem-based training sessions on the updated Medical Treatment Guidelines in addition to skill-building workshops on cumulative trauma, complex regional pain syndrome, and traumatic brain injury impairment ratings.
The course format, date, and time will be determined once operations return to normal. Providers may register for the online or home study option, but in-person proctored exams are suspended for the time being.
